Zantel Tanzania, welcomed Benoit Janin new Chief Executive Officer taking over the reigns from Pratap Ghose.
A 17-year telecom industry veteran, Benoit is best known for his tenure as a Tigo Chad CEO, where he successfully led Tigo Chad to experience a significant double-digit growth to become the unchallengeable market leader and also launching 3G and 4G services.
Prior to joining Millicom Group Benoit has worked for almost 3 years in Vimpelcom group as the CCO of their Cambodia operation and before that, he worked for 10 years within Orange Group in various consultant and then C-level roles.
Speaking of his new role, Benoit said he is excited to join Zantel and looks forward to work together with the Zantel team to reenergize the Zantel brand.
"I am motivated by the challenge in creating the new era for Zantel where we are going to leverage the current brand status, increase the quality of service, improve mobile money services and expand areas of Corporate Social Responsibility ’ said Benoit.
Benoit has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Business Administration and Management from the ICN High Business School in France.
He also has a Leadership program certificate from Stanford Business School, together with a Post-Graduate degree in Foreign languages (DEUG LEA in English & German) from Aix-en-Provence University.
In Zantel he would be responsible for enhancing market share and margins along with growth of alternate revenue streams including 4G, Data, Ezypesa and value added services, taking Zantel to next phase.
